Market Analyzer

AdWest is very happy to announce that the members of Newspapers Atlantic are now a full-funding partner in the national community newspaper GIS initiative, Market Analyzer. The addition of 70+ community newspapers to the database pushes the total community newspaper participation to over 700 titles from Alberta to Newfoundland.

The impact on the Media Planning Community is significant, giving Planners the unparalleled ability to uniformly measure community newspaper coverage areas and markets against thousands of available datasets purchased from recognized suppliers.

To learn more about Market Analyzer check out the User Guide

Our Projects

The GIS underpinnings of Market Analyzer have extraordinarily broadened the Geo-Targeting capabilities of the community newspapers industry, particularly when it comes to dealing with client or campaign-specific variables.

AdWest has recently launched a sub-section of AdWest.ca that illustrates some of the ways we've GIS technology to align key client geographies with community newspaper coverage areas for straightforward and CONSISTENT analysis. New Online Tool: Mapping Multiple Newspaper Coverage Areas

AdWest recognizes the importance of being able to analyze newspaper circulation and coverage areas and how that leads to campaign optimization.  Unfortunately, a list of titles on a Rate Card only tell part of the story.

The most recent upgrade to our Online Planning Tools provides media planners with the ability to build campaigns that recognize the unique characteristics that define circulation footprints in rural areas.

Map All functionality is currently available at the Results stage of all customized Planning Tools queries.

AdWest Website Enhancements

At the beginning of 2011, we began work on a number of changes to the functionality of the AdWest website, with a focus on ensuring users can quickly and easily access some of the tools we’ve built to support the detailed planning process. Think of it as your 24/7 AdWest client representative.  While you may have noticed some of the changes, we’d like to highlight a few:

Homepage:  We’ve added a slide deck highlighting just a few of the types of projects we undertake, ranging from aggregated coverage area mapping, to geo-targeting customer postal code info, to taking a deeper dive into market demographics and consumer spending data to generate thematic maps.

Interactive Zone Map:  A one-of-a-kind, interactive tool that allows users to create custom maps showing multiple newspaper coverage areas. Simply select relevant publications from the pull-out menu (RH side), and zoom in for greater detail.  We’ve also linked specific coverage area maps and datasheets for all of our member publications here for easy access to more detail.

Innovative Creative:  Check out this new area of the site (linked on the new homepage LH side bar) dedicated to showcasing some of the more unique, hyper-local campaigns clients are running in community newspapers.

Member Publications:
A complete, alphabetical list of all of the AdWest member publications, with quick links to the “mini-media kit” for each one. You’ll find it under ‘About Us’ in the top navigation bar.

Research:
We’ve added ‘Research’ to the top navigation menu, where you’ll find access to our proprietary Market Analyzer tool (harnessing demographic and consumer spending behavior data), and Combase readership data available for member newspapers.

Feedback: We want to hear from you! If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, please click on the feedback link on the bottom right hand corner of our site.

AdWest Agency User Guide

AdWest’s new and improved User Guide is now online! We want to ensure media planners know exactly what kind of services and support we can provide. To make that easy, the guide provides a quick overview of what we do and how we do it, ranging from third party coverage maps to harnessing market demographic, consumer spending and readership data.  We urge all the folks involved in the planning process to take a few minutes with the guide. We’re pretty sure there’s a lot we can help you with!
