Geo Targeting and AdWest

Geo targeting in layman's term is the method of determining the geophysical (physical location) of any given target, such as dealer, customer or audience locations.

Geo targeting is at the crux of everything AdWest Marketing has developed. We've learned that the easiest way to help media planners to understand our media is by matching the physical area served by our newspapers to the information that they have been supplied with by their clients. For example:

  • Which newspaper(s) ciculate to the highest density of mining, forestry and drilling activity?
  • Which newspaper(s) distribution areas are wholly contained within the FSA T0M and what does that coverage look like?
  • Which publication(s) circulate to the County of Rockyview?
  • How much duplication is there between the five newspapers that circulate to the town of Scott, Saskatchewan?
  • Which newspaper(s) circulate to areas with the highest household spending on Recreation Services?

We have assembled two groups of maps to help you target your audience. In the first section (Zone Coverage), you will find all of AdWest member publications categorized by regional or geographical zones. In the second section (Density Mapping) you will finda collection of different density maps of our regions based on Statistic Canada most commonly requested Census and Expenditure Datasets.
